Something new is taking shape on our island, and we’d love for you to be part of it.
A small group of parents and community members has come together to launch the Islesboro Parent Teacher Community Association – the Islesboro PTCA – a volunteer organization dedicated to supporting our school, celebrating our teachers, and connecting the people of this island around the education of our children.
Our mission is simple: We foster strong partnerships among families, educators, and the community to support every student’s growth, enrich learning opportunities, and strengthen the connection between our school and island life.
We believe that in a community this small and this connected, we have something most schools only dream about – the ability for every family, neighbor, and islander to play a genuine role in the life of our school. The PTCA is how we make that happen together.
What we’re working on first:
- Celebrating our teachers and staff for Teacher Appreciation Day in May
- Finding the right way to support our students’ prom this spring
- Listening to the community about what programs and events would matter most going forward
We are just getting started, and we want to hear from you. Whether you have an idea, a skill to share, or simply want to stay informed, please take a few minutes to fill out our short community survey here.
If you have questions or are a parent or community member who would like to join our group, please email us at islesboroptca@gmail.com.
